About Messiah

Worship - 9:00 Sundays

Check our calendar for dates and times of special services and the map for our location.

Bible Class/Sunday School

See our Education page for details about instruction.

Messiah Lutheran was established in 1976 in Shiocton (a village of 900+ residents). Our members are busy being farmers, teachers, office-workers, retirees, and more, but they also enjoy setting aside time to regularly worship together. Visitors are always welcome to join us. If you have questions, please ask!

Messiah is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that Jesus is our Savior from sin and eternal death. We enjoy the opportunities we have to worship together and serve our Lord.

For information about Bible classes, please look on the Education page.

Pastor

Rev. Bradley Ragner has been serving at Messiah, Shiocton for over twenty years. He has a love for the Lord and for sharing news about our Savior to young and old alike. He attended Northwestern College in Watertown, WI, and earned his advanced degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI.

Pastor is always energized by what his sermon study reveals, and is eager to share in our worship services. He also enjoys teaching Latin 1 at Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton.

Prior to being at Messiah, Rev. Ragner served in Orange County  and the San Fernando Valley in California. He and his wife then made the move across the country to a congregation in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1995 before settling in at Messiah in Shiocton.

Choir

Choir is a 4-part (SATB) group that sings for holidays and special services.

Rehearsals are usually after church on Sundays for about an hour. There are short breaks after Christmas and Easter, and no choir during the summer. More voices are welcome at any time! Check the calendar for schedules.

Ladies of Messiah

Our ladies usually meet at 6:30 PM on the first Thursday of every month. Among the things on the "to do" list are . . . organizing food for special events, taking care of decorating (and un-decorating) for Christmas, and providing Christmas gifts for shut-ins.

All ladies are welcome to attend and take part in the fellowship and food at the monthly meetings. Check the calendar for the meeting dates and times. We hope to see you there!
